Images are for representative purposes only and do not imply a contract - we cannot sell good weather, just seek where it prevails! Our photo library will be updated as we tour & replace on this site but these are genuinely all from Roger's Tours, thanks to Pat Cooke.

Here are our successful tours so far - up to 2009 – we are currently reviewing what potential tours may interest our existing clients, entice new ones to try us, and be FUN to organise and lead - so do please watch this space. THANK YOU to all my loyal and patient customers.

Court Dress in Europe at Versailles, Vionnet at the Louvre plus 2 exhibitions - date 25 - 28 June 2009
Click Here for details - this leads you to the proposed tour.

Our visit to "Accessoires de Mode sous l’occupation 1940-1944" at the Musee Jean Moulin was fascinating, but at times a grim experience. "Les Marin font la Mode " at the Trocadero, was revealed as almost a match for “Sailor Chic“ by the NMM and V&A. But unique film of Chanel, examples of Gaultier, YSL and others set it apart. Paris was hot and very busy with demonstrations and traffic.

On Saturday Versailles’ new gilding gleamed, and "Court Dress in Europe 1650-1800" was almost as rich with period “bling” for three centuries. The restored Hall of mirrors was of course crowded with the united nations of tourism, but the fountains charmed us.

The overlap with "Madame Vionnet" at the Musee de la Mode Louvre dictated the tours date and made it a packed but satisfying trip. I again arranged an English speaking guide, who was excellent. We finished the afternoon off with lunch in the Café outside the Royal Exchange on the pavement, serenaded by the students of the Conservatoire. Thus ended a unique fashion and costume tour - all the greats in one weekend

Rogers Tours first ever Art Trip - ART0108 - 20th to the 25th March 2008

Our base at "Bokonneg" is in the heart of Brittanny and is attractive as a painting subject in itself; the site offers an open sided barn in which to work up paintings in shelter, superbly decorated rooms, and a communal kitchen area ; we will have a sectioned trailer to enable everyone to bring as much art material as they want separate from luggage, so we should be able to cope with oil painters as well as watercolourists - but no warranty is implied against bumpy roads.
We'd like to thank Studio Art and Framing, 31 High St, Poole 01202 686662 for promoting this tour.

Lyon - Silk and Textiles centre - SILK0108 - early June 2008

In the spirit of Rogers Tours we have been approached to take those interested in Textiles down to Lyon for a long weekend around the 6/7th June 2008 - no there are NO definite details yet but we will be visiting other textile history sites en route to break the journey, and then be based in what many claim to be the second city of France. Our enthusiasts have suggested several very attractive museum visits and the whole weekend will match the highest expectations, but will be that bit further.

A long weekend in the Seventeenth Century, English Civil War - by arrangement

Much has been made of this period but most guides and tours focus on the set piece grand battles, the generals and the famous personalities. Roger's Tours don't do that . Our long weekend tour sets off from London in company with an ordinary footsoldier, a researched original human being. We do not claim to know everything, but by following his known path we can enter the world turned upside down of the 1640's, and come out in a society with a complete new order.
